Casteism
by true tamilan on Sep 16, 2007 08:23 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Veda Vyasa who wrote Mahabharat was born of fisherwoman and Valmiki was a chandala.

We even have instance of god chastising casteism. God Shiva appeared in the form of Chandala before Adhi Shankaracharya and told that "God is everywhere in the world".

All the hindu leaders like Adhi Shankaracharya, Vivekananda, Annamacharya, Sree Narayana guru, Aurobindo have worked to get rid of casteism in Hinduism. But who cares about hindu leaders. Caste system will always be associated with hinduism as it helps christian missionaries.

Caste system is indeed bad. No question about it. But why is it associated only with Hindusim. Which religion is not following it. Every religion has sects/sub-sects which fight with each other and don't inter-mix, intermarry. Shias/sunnis, catholic/protestants...very long list

The diference is that in all other religions,
Divisons dont have the approval of their God.
But in Hinduism, Brahmins have approved it by signing for God.
