Reply to JB - your errors

JB is evidently does not know the definition of religion as being different from politics. Politics manipulates and speculates using people their beliefs, their customs and most specifically their ignorance to achieve what the politicians want: power and wealth.
No religion declared people untouchable, no religion advocates wives burning on their husbands%u2019 pyre, no religion denies education or equality or is responsible for inciting violence as such.
Does the bible not encourage an "eye for an eye"? Isn't that inciting violence? Education was once available to priests and popes in the past. How casteist is Catholicism? The pope states that unless you are Catholic you cannot go to heaven! That you are damned! What about the millions who lived before in pre-Christian times? The fact is Christianity is not European religion but like every other faith, comes from the East! Yet the European church lays down law.
You are mistaking politics with religion. Denying education, caste discrimination are social not religious phenomena.
In the bible there are cases of incest, adultery and worship of idols. The use of the cross with or without Jesus crucified on it, is just an object to concentrate on. The various divinities in Hindu philosophy are just that: the representation of the various forces and aspects of God that have been fractioned to permit a better understanding amongst the ignorant masses.
We still use this system, we are still comfortable with this symbolism, just like

If we still chose to use this system, it means we are still comfortable with this symbolism, just like Christians still use various versions of the cross, or Muslims still visit the Kaaba in Mecca.

You did not reply to any of my questions, but instead started talking about something unrelated to those questions. You attemted to justify one wrong with another wrong. "If pope would do it why cant we?". I'll answer your question anyway, even though you were not willing to answer mine.

I believe your knowledge of Christianity is very limited. When Christianity moved from East to Europe, the Europeans manipulated Christianity and created Catholicism to atract the pagans. Catholocism is different from Christianity. And yes, the pope & catholic church hijacked the Bible & introduced their own rules & controlled all the poeple incluing the kings. The Bible was not open to all. That period in time was called the "Dark Ages". Since you are comparing that with the situation in India (or with Hinduism), it just leads one to believe that Hindus are in the "Dark Ages".

I'm not mixing politics with religion. Discrimination is inherent in Hinduism. Why did Rama slain poor Sambuka who are only offering prayers to reach the gods? Because he was born a Sudra. I guess you need to know more also about Hinduism
