Kashmiri Brahmins eat beef and so do Bengali ones. India is a diverse country and every community has its own eating and living habit. 65% of all Hindus are non-vegetarians ; 85% of Tamil Hindus are non-vegetarians. Vegetarianism is a function of geography - people eat what is in plenty and preserve what is there needed in famine.
