Hello Iam originally form Jaffna in northern SriLanak. My family name is Sethu Kavalar ( which means the protector or the guardian of the Sethu . I used to wonder what this Sethu meant, as quite a few Jaffna Tamils form th eupper Vellalar cast ( both Christian and Hindu) have this title or family name. Later Iread that one of the sacred duties of the Tamil kings of the Jaffna Kingdom was to guard and protect the Sethu and hence another title for these kings was Sethu Kavalar. Is this the same Sethu.

I cannot sleep when Hinduism is attacked, may be you can. Once we gaet our freedon we will restore all Hindu places of worship which was destroyed by the Portuguese, Dutch, the British and the Sinhalese.
