NASA - Any better authority?
by Sridhar Jajula on Sep 14, 2007 05:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

US space agency NASA says pictures taken by its astronauts do not prove the existence or otherwise of a manmade Ram Setu bridge as mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana.

"I am not aware of any carbon dating either," said NASA spokesman Michael Braukus, refuting claims by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that the agency had the Adam's bridge in Palk Strait - known as Ram Setu in India - carbon dated as being 1.7 million years old.

"Some people have taken pictures taken by our astronauts to make their claim. No position can be taken on the basis of these photographs in any way," Braukus said when asked to comment on the controversy surrounding the site of the proposed Rs.24 billion Sethusamudram canal project off India's southern tip.

Back in October 2002 too the US agency had rebutted a story circulated by an Indian news agency based on claims made by a couple of NRI websites and Hindu news services that "space images taken by NASA" had revealed "a mysterious ancient bridge in the Palk Strait".

"The mysterious bridge was nothing more than a 30 km long, naturally-occurring chain of sandbanks called Adam's bridge," Hess had added.

What ever you have written has no use at all due to all of the religion working on faith & believe not on the proof.
If it is Adam bridge or geological occurrence not a matter, here the religion Hindu believes in idol worship, is it not enough that Hindu have any believe with them..
Neither Hindu nor any religion has asked the evidence & about the occurrence or truth of the settu..
You are whatever not a matter to impose or justify any one believes & faith what they carry?

While fundamentalism, superstition, ignorance, lack of human rights, female genital mutilations, forced seclusion of women within their houses and in their hijabs; religious extremism, fundamentalism, suicide-bombing and Islamic terrorism continue to be the hallmarks of the Muslim states and societies under the influence of the Saudi Islamic Spiritual Empire of the petro-dollars or Iranian Shiite area of influence under its Shiite oil-money; it is high time for the civilized world to wake-up from the stupor of multi-culturism and blind tolerance of the organized intolerance; for the disease is spilling herein already. Many of the acts of the Islamic states and societies, organizations and individuals are barbaric and medieval; the beheading of the innocent hostages, death penalties and murders for religious reasons; chopping of hands and feet; stoning to death of women for getting raped or on accusation of natural sexual intercourse; honor-killing on mere suspicion, suicide-bombings and acts of terrorism; these are indicative of a deep-seated disease. Murder on the name of a merciful Allah is mere hypocrisy.

ISLAM WILL MAKE U PARASITES..

So friend i dont find any clarity in the statements made by you, let us for a moment ignore that the bridge was infact built by Ram fine then does is it ok to destroy it ??? Further what kind of prosperity are we talking about for a project that costs Rs 2600 crores and fetches Rs 21 crore annual savings ... A mere 1% Return when the GDP is growing @9% and inflation @ 4% , are we lacking better avenues for making public expenditure??? Why not better road connectivity, power, railways, education .. health care.. please tell me..

Finally there is no justification to hurt the sentiments of millions for 1% returns.

Dear Raju

as per economics there will be no profit, we will end up in loss! Please understand in this cannel only 30000DWT ship can cross. If you take only 600 to 700 ships are currently crossing the Srilanka belt. This figure is reducing every year as all the liners prefer big vessel now it goes upto 200000DWT ships! As per thier calcultaions every year minimum 1200 ship should cross to touch the break even, if this is the case the amount spent on this sea can be collected after 50 years!

pseudo intellectulas does not know this calculations, hence please ignore people like sridhar and all
