Indian Science
by Vikram on Sep 14, 2007 02:17 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It was not Copernicus, who discovered that earth goes round the Sun.

Long before Copernicus, Varaha Mihira discovered that Earth goes round the Sun and not vice-versa.

World's first surgeries were performed by Sushrutha (and his ancestors), several thousand years ago.

India's science was developed several thousand years ago, much before our modern science.

Even today, modern science can NOT provide better cures than Ayurveda. That is why many in the west are flocking to Ayurveda and doing research on Ayurveda. But our "secular" governments find it to be "communal".

It is the other way.

Sometime in future, when you or your loved ones are in hospital and robbed throusands of rupees with no cure but many side effects, then you will remember Ayurveda.

I am not against modern medicine. I am only pointing out that Indian medicina (Ayurveda) was much advanced several thousand yeras ago and even today, it has better cures for some diseases than allopathy.

Wake up and get some sense!

and you never could ... because the next time you cannot answer nature's call you will take the first appointment at a 'non-ayurveda' hospital ... leave alone a surgery.

Ha

it is nice to say stories when everything's fine, but when things are not fine, sh*it happens.

You must be a sick Muslim or Christian.

Why does it hurt so much to acknowledge that Indian science was developed much before modern science?

If the science was great, why is is not cared for ?

God forbid, but would you take your loved one to an ayurvedist if there is an emergency ?

More and more people in India and abroad are flocking towards Ayurveda.

Ayurveda has delivered where allopathy failed.

But, I am not discrediting modern medicine.

Leran to accept the usefulness of ancient medicine too.

abroad ? cool.

People are coming from abroad because medical procedures here are cheap.

I personally know a friend who almost got killed because of ayurveda, and was saved at the last moment in Apollo.

Religion has to be brought into the discussions because your sick Christian mind opposes anything related to ancient India.

I never knew your religion, but from the way you talked, I could guess that you must be a Christian or Muslim, because only they are opposed to Indian culture, science and anything related to India.

I am born in a hospital, not a forest.

I was born with the help of allopathy, noy Ayurveda.

I haven't said anything against allopathy or modern science. I only said that India is much advanced in science and technology much before this modern science.

Why is that hurting you, Deepak? Are you a Muslim, Christian or a Communist? Answer this question.

I am a Christian. How does this impact my question? Do you have different answers for a Christian and non-christians ? If so, does it not tell something on your integrity which you are flaunting so exhaustively ?

You say "Even today, modern science can NOT provide better cures than Ayurveda." If so, why did your parents choose a hospital, and why (i am sure) you will choose a hospital for your kid ?

Idiot, stop arguing with me.

Look around.

More and more people are using Ayurveda in India as well as abroad.

Just shut up and wake up!

You have to be a Christian, because Christians are not proud of anything related to ancient India.

you call us sick christian minds.

And when confronted you use bad words ...

As for ayurveda, it is not enough to tom-tom what sushruta and others did, practise it man and let me know, I will come and attend the last rites.

Once I met with an accident. I went to a modern hospital, not to Ayurveda.

I practise Yoga and Pranayama.

I was suffering from Bronchitis (Asthma) for several years. I consulted several allopathic doctors, some prescribed strong medicines, some prescribed mild medicines. But it remained uncured. One doctor suggested costly medicines from Singapore. I used them also, but still I was not cured. I remained uncured for several years.

Finally, I was cured by Ayurveda, within one year, by using cheap medicines.

Earlier I used to take allopathic medicines for headache, cols and fever. Now, when I get fever, I don't take any medicine at all. I just follow diet as per ayurvedic principles. I get cured without any medicine automatically within 2 or 3 days.

Ayurveda is preventive. If you follow it, you will not fall sick. There will not be a need for "medicine".

Yoga and Pranayama have even cured Cancer in some cases.

I am not saying that you must not use allopathy at all. If I meet with an accident and lose blood, I will definitely go to a modern hospital. But, by default, for most of the ailments, I will try to use Ayurveda. I will use allopathy, only if Ayurveda fails. I have been following this policy and I have been maintaining perfect health.

Take the best form both the worlds, Allopathy and Ayurveda. Be open to both of them.

Don't ignore Ayurveda, just because it belongs to ancient India and because you are a Christian opposed to it.
