It is a very cowardly act on the part of the government. The Affidavit filed by ASI said that the existance of Lord Rama cannot be HISTORICALLY proved. The affidavit never questioned the existance of Rama in flesh and blood.
Through deductions (sort of circumstantial evidence !!) we all know that King Rama did exist. Otherwise, there wouldnt have been Ramayana. However deductions are not something that ASI can offer in an Affidavit to the Court !
If the govt. is stooping down for majority appeasement, just imagine how much they would stoop (or crawl) for minority appeasement.
