Vijay K Sazawal's article

When I read the article by the NRI Nuclear policy specialist, I am reminded of the efforts of an NRI energy specilist living Canada in a Conference in Montreal in 1992 , to palm off a "30 year mothballed captive generator" to India at a cost of $10.00 million.parts for thje generator, he fell silent.
The basic questions to be asked are:
i. How does the deal help in buttressing energy requiremnts of the country at reasonbale cost? US did not bulit a Reactor for energy for over 30 years.
ii.How relaible is US in honouring its committments? Not ata all reliable- they backed out of fuel suply to Tarapur plant. They do not want to subject themselves to the Jurisdiction of International court of justice. They feel free to kidnap persons they do not like from other countries with able assistance from their Courts.
It is better that the author does a soul search before commending the deal.

When I enquired about the avilabilty of spare parts for the generator, he fell silent.
