I see so many people say everyone in India needs to know Hindi.

Why should people learn Hindi. One good reason please?

I would prefer not to speak Hindi which has more Persian or Arabic words than Sanskrit.

Nandakumar,

I dont know Hindi myself. Why dont you ask the Yellow towel family leaders? They all know Hindi, watch Hindi movies, converse in Hindi only outside the state

Nandakumar, I agree that no one should be forced to speak in any particular language. What probably means in the current context is that when we need to unite for a cause, cutting through regional, social, cultural beliefs, we need to develop a common mode of communication, that would help in integrating ourselves and improving interactions which is of prime importance in the current scenario.
I feel for Hindus the language to unite them is the Language of God, of Bhakti and devotion which can be any any tongue, or form of expression.
Let us unite in restoring dignity and honour to the Hindu cause!
