Sad state of affairs
by crazyforsense on Sep 12, 2007 09:32 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Beliefs of millions of people must be respected, regardless of whether there is evidence to substantiate those beliefs or not. It is unfortunate the Govt couldn't handle the situation more deftly.

I dont understand why they couldn't agree on any of the 6 other alternate routes proposed to Ram Setu. I am not a Hindu, but I empathize with the issue at hand here. Regardless of the evidence, the Govt should try to explore alternate routes and preserve this as a heritage site. End of the day beliefs are beliefs not scientific facts, but people make a nation not just scientific facts.

Thanks for the comments. A belief, if not harmful to other physically, mentally should not be ridiculed. Science is based on belief because they base their logic finally on proton, neutron, electron assuming they don't change their charges.
