even though there's not enough indication for health damage, as yet, by popular media and doctors (until, there's proof positive and cell phone companies have stopped making buck off the cell phones, or if the governments finally all over the world decide mobiles might do damage , they'll never agree about cell phones doing any damage); nevertheless, its good because, its bringing asymetry in the schools. for example - a rich kid sports a p1i or a nokia 9 series, which only business users use. so, naturally, it creates an intense disparity in the school. i for one detest such a practice where "showing off" culture is passed onto kids. some parents deliberately want to arm thier kids with the latest toys, citing, they are kids and throw tantrums if not for the very best!

Well , the disparity of kids talk about the parents ... My son( 10 year old) have a basic Nokia ( B&W ) MODEL ... I didnt see him crying about the model he has .. but sure he appreciates that he can call us at the end of the day so that all 3 of us are happy ...
Mr Nair, it is rather on the basis of health hazard that the mobile can cause to the kids. Your son might be using it just to call you, but all are not like your son,... so I think its a good decision keeping in view the larger interest. And you could collectively request the school authority provide better landlines service in the school campus.
