Mush cracks down, arrests Opp
by Bodh Ramdeo on Sep 10, 2007 06:00 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Musharaff is a military dictator - he is the law! He can dictate anyhting he wants, SC or no SC verdict - he holds the power of the gun and that is all that matters in this Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the epicenter of terror. Sharif dug his own grave when he said in an interview that he'd let down Vajpayee, as General Mush had kept him in the dark about invading Kargil. Even Mush must know that all dictators must eventually go - willingly or otherwise - heck, even Pakis can get fed up with their 'leaders'.

Bodh, you are absolutely correct.

Knowing fully well how the "law of the jungle" applies in Pakistan, India did well not to bet on anti-Musharaff forces. But I think the decision deport him was taken long before his interview on Kargil mess.

Another important point is the US did not favor the return of Sharif because of his Al Qaida connections.

You can say whatever you want about Pakis, but there is never a dull moment in that land of pure. It would have been funny and entertaining had we not been their neighbor.
