Nobody can deny that we face an unprecendented threat from a specific brand of terrorism (jihad) that we see around us today.
Let me pose a hypothetical question. What do you think would a country like Iran's reaction be if they were to be the target of some similar brand of terrorism? Simple: Cleanse the country of all such potential threats - whether convicted or not.
But then you would agree that Iran isn't a democracy. What makes the task challenging for democracies and multi-cultural societies such as the US, UK or India is that we have to take measures that help us guard against such threats and at the same time ensure that we have the environment, policies, anti-terrorism laws, law enforcement agencies, etc. that are perceived to be non-discriminatory and delivering equitable justice.
We got to act against this threat while honouring the fact that Democracy and secular fabric is what we chose for our country.

exactly- terrorists know very well how to use our liberties & freedoms to hurt us only...
The best thing is to see past this.. this is an unusual war, calls for unusual methods to resovlve... Frmaework of civil liberties, equal rights, constitional rights do not and should not be applicable to Islamic terrorists.. PERIOD!
