Incompetant
by narayana rao on Sep 09, 2007 04:44 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Mr. Nawaz sherif let down both Vajpayee and Pakistan. He could have exposed the bluff of Musaraf by letting him surrender to Indian force(As done by Auib) instead of running to Washington. US wants a strong leader who can deliver american insterests at the same time keep majority of pakistanis in good humour. At least musharaf is able to keep up the first part to some extend. He can only act as a vijaykant of tamilnadu politics.

narayana,
ideally it was not an option Mr sherief had.
at that time musharaf was commander in chief and he was in pakistan. surrendering would damage his reputation and his survival in pak..especially with the anti india feeling.
he choose a cease fire which india accepted--- because we were fighting in adverse circumstances.
surrendering mush.. was also not possible that no matter what a commander does you dont surrender him to the enemy, that doesnt make you any much of a patriot. if there is any problem you deal with him at home.
unfortunately nawaj didnt have that time or opportunity to deal with him. moreover mush was in pak.

I agree that Musharraf is better leader than other two. Pakistan politics seems to have become very complex.
