It gave USA an oppurtunity to plant listening,monitoring, data colecting devices on Indian flotilla,to pinpoint Indian Navy's weaknesses and areas vulnerability,evacuating into and polluting the sacred waters of Indian ocean.

Why do you think it is bull shit? Uncle Sams are well known for that. They even dont believe their own citizens. They tap the phone conversations, intercept the mails of their citizens all in the name of security. Osama bin Laden be damned.

I agree with Jehan. Sam has read all Indian comm frequency, survey the whole area, reaction times, ships configuration .... and walked away. They don't care about the so called friendship and inter-operability.
