Friends, I would like to share my visit to NJ/NY 2 weeks back.
I visted a place called OAK TREE in NJ. Same street where they had the Independence day celebration.
It was just Pathetic. The place is now totally "DESI". You hardly see whites there. It is so Dirtly. People throwing thrash on the road. Bottle, plastic bags, spoiled food thrown on the foot path. I also saw many stray CATS.
The car drivers (ALL DESIS) had not sense and absolutely no patience. They use the HORN just like in India shouting at Pedestrians and other drivers.
People work illegally at Indian stores where they are paid cash and hence do NOT pay taxes. People buy cash without receipts, hence evading sales TAX. The place is neglected when compared to other parts of the US. It is a "GETTO".
It is Mostly inhabited by Gujjus. You could see the thrash left behind from the Independence Day parade (Pamplets and Small Flags).
US is a great country because people respect the LAW of the Land. They respect individual rights. These immigrants in OAK TREE have created a "MINI-INDIA". You can see people spitting on the roads.
It gives a very bad name to the overall Indian Community in the US.
Why do we do this ? Why don't we think twice before breaking the LAW ? Why don't we think twice before cheating the system ? Why do we not respect individual rights ? Why can't we keep our surrounding clean ?

Are you taking about "Vande Mataram"...Cupid...Stupid...
Here people are allowed by LAW to burn their FLAG...That is the 1st ammendment to the constitution...Freedom of speech...
People respect their Country...There is less sysmbolism and more substance. People do not fight over National Songs, because there is NONE. There is just ONE national ANTHEM.
We are just interested in SYMBOLIC PATROTISM. We are patriots when there is a India Vs Pakistan Match. Rest of the time, our patriotism goes to sleep.

why don't you read before you write...
Here is some info on the Indian Flag...Please read...
- Bhagwa or the saffron colour denotes renunciation of disinterestedness. Our leaders must be indifferent to material gains and dedicate themselves to their work.
- The white in the centre is light, the path of truth to guide our conduct.
-The green shows our relation to (the) soil, our relation to the plant life here, on which all other life depends.
- The "Ashoka Chakra" in the centre of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma. Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principle of those who work under this flag. Again, the wheel denotes motion. There is death in stagnation. There is life in movement. India should no more resist change, it must move and go forward. The wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change.

Again...It is NOT a part of Bhuddism...If it was BJP would change it...Just like changing city/street names...
As far as the EMBLEM is concerned, It symbolizes power, courage and confidence
It has four "Indian Lions", resting on a circular abacus. The emblem symbolizes power, courage and confidence. The abacus is girded by four smaller animals - guardians of the four directions: the Lion of the north, the Elephant of the east, the Horse of the south and Bull of the west. The abacus rests on a nelumbo nucifera in full bloom, exemplifying the fountainhead of life.
