Anti Naxalism action and Andhra?
by Vinod Tuli on Sep 02, 2007 08:38 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Dear Editor and Mr Vicky

As a former Para military officer I recall that Andhra Police was amongst the first State of India which had its first taste of emerging Naxal menace way back in 1980s and had set up a highly professional officers to deal with under the then Provincial and Union Governments. Late NT Rma Rao had specially created a special Armed Police Academy in 1990s to train specialists in this regard which this officer had visited. Let the MHA and related agencies in national and State interest rethink of improving the existing 2 academies irrespective of the party politics as to which party in power at that time had established?
