Indians have to accept REALITY - we have a superpower NEIGHBOUR. Makes 100 percent sense to live and grow with it rather than a country located 15000 kilometers away.
AT THE END OF THE DAY it is neighbour that is more important. You dont care someone living 500 km away, do you. Being pig headed and ignoring reality of CHINA will not get us anywhere.

Correction :India has a superpower neighbour like china that is hostile to it.
That is why aligning with US is important for India. Distance has no relevance here
