Most of Gujarati Hindus, whether they belong to Congress, RSS, VHP, etc, etc, are simply tired and sick of Muslim Jehadi violence. They have now realized that appeasement, non-violence (Gandhi's methods) donot work as far as Islamic Jehadis are concerned. Violence started by these Jehadis need to be responded by violence.
Godhara incident reflects this mindset of Gujarati Hindus. Muslim violence will trigger serious riots in Gujarat and it is going to be hard for CM or police to control these riots.
Indian Government, whether it is BJP, Congress, etc, etc, have not been able to control Muslim Jehadi violence, so the Gujarati Hindus have decided to put a stop to it and their method is to respond violently against Islam Jehadi violence, especially after 60 yrs of appeasement, non-violent methods have totally failed as far as these Jehadis are concerned.
This is what is happenning in Gujarati... whether you like it or not... accept it... Maybe, this will teach Muslims to live peacefully with other religions, just like Parsees, Jews, etc, etc have lived peacefully with Hindus in India for thousands of yrs.
Muslims living in western countries hardly indulge in any violence towards other people because they know that the public in these countries will react violently. They are more afraid of the public reaction than the goverment, police etc, etc and that's why Muslims never revert to violence to other people in the western countries they live in.... But in India

But in India, for insignificant reasons, Muslims will quickly indulge in violence because they know Hindu Indians will not respond back.
Peaceful, non-violent methods need to be followed, but there is a limit to it as well. If they fail to work, then other methods need to be used to bring peace in the society, in the world.
If both sides know that they will be 'CRUSHED', then either side will not attack.
That is the reason USA & Russia never attacked each other during the cold war.... they both will be 'CRUSHED'. You can call this a non-violent method.
