It is recognised world wide that Nuclear Energy is the only Safe energy source of the future and to stop global warming coal burning furnaces which generate electricity should be closed. there is no other option left and considering India as a responsible Nuclear Power US is offering this oppurtunity, why didn't such treaty has been made with pakistan, just think about it..Today we are not in situation where cannot achieve it before 5-8 years of development but we should keep our R&D labs running so that our research should not stop at any stage.

You are right. But some points are not clear. Like what would be impact of this deal on defense establishment, future testing, international monitoring, separation of defense and civil reactors and limitation of R&D (i.e. fast breeders), future limitation on other aspects etc.

LOL, what's not clear? just because it's not clear to you doesn't mean that it's not clearly put in the documentaion.
There is no restriction on testing. There is no inspection of existing nuclear facilities. There is no such thing as defense or civilian nuclear reactors ... all nuclear reactors are for civilian use only. They use the spent fuel for making nuclear bombs. The treaty does say that it will be regulated and India will have to proivide data on disposition on spent fuel.
You haven't read anything, don't know anything and then on a discussion board, talk like a pro ... you must be from BJP ... LOL

Have you heard of Chernobyl( USSR) or Three Miles Island( USA) or Muramoto Crisis( Japan) or Shellafield ( UK).
If you know what are these, you will never say Nuclear energy is the safest.
If the Tamils want to die in contaminations let them have many more nuclear plants, as many as they like, if they can pay for it from their pocket. Nuclear energy is the most expensive and most dangerous.
