I think time has come to amend the constitution to say that if a state govt once installed fails President's rule shall be imposed for the remaining period before the next election. This will prevent defections and horse trading ( to avoid showing any disrespect to a wonderful animal we should call it donkey trading as that will suit our politicians better).

Yes, the best action at this point of time woul be dissolution of Assembly and continuance of the President's Rule and elections held within six months. JD(S) should not any longer be trusted, either BJP or the Congress. When I say the JDS(S), it includes the JDS rebels also ! Shri Shindig is absolutely right in saying that it is high time the Constitution is amended so that whenever President's Rule is imposed on a State, it follows the dissolution of the Assembly. Keeping the Assembly under 'animated suspension' means 'horse trading' - no, sorry, 'donkey trading', which must be avoided at all costs. Only such an amendment would save the States from the clutches of various political combinations in the name of Alliances. Is it not high time that the people raise their voices a little more strongly on various issues? People's voice can never be ignored for too long.
