Not necessarily........

For aan advanced nation like the US or the UK, the harnessing of nuclear tehcnologu does really come with the associated evils as they have advanced disposal schemes that guard the nation against the perils of nuclear waste...

But the same cannot be said about a developing asian nation like India with its teeming millions and rampant corruption....Even though norms and standards can be established and put in place for nuclear waste disposal, implemenation in accordance with the norms might remain a utopian dream, thereby endangering the lives of the masses.......

Simply put, what is applicable to a developed country is not necessarily applicable to a developing country like India.....

Thermal, Hydro, MHD, Wind may continue to be harnessed....nuclear techonology can be put on hold until we can have clear blueprint as to how we would go about tackling and disposing nuclear waste......

Thanks,
Bhasmasur

Well!

Going by your logic there is great doubt if india can handle there nuclear war head they already possess. The same logic can be extended to other high end technologies such as misseles and rockets.Due to rampant corruption they may pass on to wrong hands.

I believe the situation is not as bad as you portray.India has matured enough to handle hig end technology and manage it safely.
