What we were doing for 60 years. Govt. has spent enormous money on scientists but they have let us down. To my knowledge, thorium reactor is 3 stage. We just completed stage 1 and it took us 30 years of research. Dr. Kalam agrees lot of research still needed. But he is too optimistic on his time estimate. I think thorium reactors are still min 30 yrs away.

Indian scientists are working more than 50 years thru diff organisation..still why we depend on foreighn palyers for Airplane parts or etc..Ours all set up have high dependency of US/Europe/Russia..all of a sudden people just blush..we make everything..but never works in reality..for name sake..every oen can talk nonsense

you r wrong. It will come likely within 10 years. My estimate of 30 yrs is also optimistic estimate.
Secondly nuke deal is not stopping our research on thorium based technology. Then why not go for deal? Dr. Kalam shall clearly state his mind on nuke deal. Don't give us dreams. We need to live in reality. Most of indian nuke scientists are biased against US as they were forced into isolation. Dr. kalam is also a sort of thief for US.

You are dumb head. If we sign deal, we will get power. More power means prosperous economy. Prosperous economy means more money. more money means more research. Secondly, we will get Uranium from outer resources. More uranium means more thorium research. This deal is good. India should go for it. Dr. Kalam shall speak his mind clearly on deal.
