The role of civic society is critical - it helps direct social and political growth for society. In its absence, it is primarily institutions that gain strength and often leading to a praetorian culture becoming entrenched. For example, changes in India such as National Right to Employment Guarantee Act or the Right to Information were driven by civic society engagement - and often were implemented while threatening entrenched institutions No wonder then, that while India was engaged in true land reform, and building infrastructure for democratic participation,up to 70% of Pakistani budget was focused on defense. Erosion of such participation will lead to an increasingly authoritarian state and increased instability This is harmless, incompetent men cannot stay in-charge for long.
The bad bits are when politician start interfering with the system. See how Ayub khan was selected out of turn, thats a wrong precedent to set in a country with political instability.
The other bit is peoples faith in democracy. The deal is in India its tough to beat the system and people still have faith in democracy. As long as this is there no general is getting any ideas. most of the pakistani people are afraid of the military. even highly educated persons feel fearful to open the mouth against the army. as it is notorious in oppressing the people by its NAZI type tactics but now the time has come to combat the rogue army. otherwise it will eat up whole of the country.

Pakistan peoples faith & believeness in democracy, But who were political leaders& military in Pakistan till today they don%u2019t have any faith in democracy, that is the reason most of the times pakistan was ruled by military offices, this is not today ,from past 50 years this situation should be happen, when will you find the solution to implement proper democracy in pakistan, mean Pakistan was divided from India, In Pakistan military is powerful than the democracy(Political Leaders),
Now days most of Pakistan people are afraid of the military, not even media and highly educated peoples also feel fearful to open the mouth against the army.
I feel it is very bad situation in Pakistan and No democracy in Pakistan.
