Australian will definetly sell to India
by parisheel wakalkar on Oct 17, 2007 11:01 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Australia's economy is mainly dependent on natural resources. Its already in deal with China for Uranium. (Mind it forget human rights violation in China). It will definetly make deal with India as we are second most eligible customers its totally business.
Only one habit Australian politicians or goverment is to dance on the music of Uncle SAM.
I think deal is good for india as international atomic authorities will have acces to our nuclear facilities so no one can blaim India for misuse.
This is international issue, then why all of a sudden lefts are raising this issue, they must know they are part of India and if they behave like this they will become permanent opposition memebers like BJP.

This is another pressure tactic of USA, they can only pressurise India but cannot apply more pressure, we have developed when sanctions were imposed its another phase which india has to withstand.

The problem is we are looking just in a box solutions. Apart from N energy whay not work on wind energy, wind is free fuel prices may go up but wind is always free so its more reliable source of energy. Apart from that we are blesed with good river networks develop hydel power, tidal generaters are working fantastically in France and England we can also have a look at that.
Our scientist can put more efforts on developing our own technology for nuke power simeltaneously.
If we want to do it every thing is possible.
But the govt is projecting as if N-energy is the only source to generate electricity which is wrong.
Immediately we can re build the power grid to reduce losses during transmission.

You are right. Our country one problem is that poplulation is concentared in certain pathces. It is not economical to transport electricity from places where it can be generated through wind energy.
Nuclear energy is most clean form energy to develop, offcourse issue of disposal of nuclear waste is there, but ther techniques developed for that as well

dear Wakalkar,
a nuke reactor needs certain guidelines and safety features to install, unfortunately india is a location which heavily depends on nature. The N reactor also needs huge amount of water (specially treated for corrosion and scaling) to cool the reactors. Installing a N reactor is not like installing a yamaha birla genset.
Secdondly with the national internal security detoriating no N reactor is safe.
We need to first develop ourself for the N energy then think of talking of it.
With a nation of 102 crore polulation nothing is impossible we can make all impossible possible if we all unite for a common cause.

Why would they sell to India without the permission from NSG? They are bounded by NSG and India needs to sign NPT or CTBT for this. The ohter alternative was India - US nuclear deal which is in back burner thanks to those who doesn't understand this.

You are abs. correct. Why should Aussies sell uranium to India without the approval of NSG? China is different case altogether. They are one of the permanent members of Secuity Council and have more clout in the world. We are being isolated internationally and it will take sometime to feel the repercussions.
