Pervez Musharraf -
by govind dujari on Oct 15, 2007 07:18 PM   Permalink

Sometimes we feel like laughing for what is going on in the name of restoring democracy. Musharraf is organizing a race in which he is the organizer, patron, announcer, sponsor, selector, starter, participant, judge and lab in charge for dope testing %u2013 all blended in one. He has almost ensured that he gets the trophy. Musharraf wants to call heads or tails only after the coin falls on the ground.

He has withdrawn all corruption charges against Benzir Bhutto after intense haggling as if it were his paternal property. He was at so much ease when his assistants were %u201Cnegotiating%u201D with Benzir Bhutto for %u201Cpower sharing%u201D by keeping Nawaz Sharif out from the race. Is it power sharing or height of opportunism? It was amazing that he put a condition before his countrymen that he would shed his uniform after being elected President. It meant he would remain President in uniform if he were not elected President without uniform. I don%u2019t know why Benzir Bhutto%u2019s party abstained from voting if she was ready for %u201Cpower sharing%u201D? In this way, he ensured that nobody voted against him even by mistake. As of now, Musharraf is entitled to remain in uniform up till 15th November and he expects the Pakistan Supreme Court to deliver judgment in his favour within that time. It is a clear indication that Musharraf will impose martial law on 14th November if Supreme Court tries to linger the case beyond 15th Nov, Musharraf%u2019s last to don uniform.
