China and India

While the changes in China is indeed amazing given its size, there is nothing to ape for India. Considering the rural-urban and rich-poor divide in this communist country, we should be happy we have a society that shows much more concern about inequality and deprivation as indicated by massive targeted programs for employment, food security, education and the proposed social security measures for the informal workers.
The open society and the debates (albeit a bit too long) is what makes living in this country any time much more preferable than in China.

You are ill informed. In India it is much more worse. You don't feel it since you belong to the affluent. There is slavery and bonded labour in India. China thinks about at least reverting this devide and slowing down growth rate.
