Nuclear deal has nothing to do with power generation but to do with nuclear nonproliferation. NSG wants to eliminate India's capacity to produce nuclear weapons. This is the issue. India despite of the sanctions since 1974 was not isolated as it got everything from USSR and Russia since then, but now all these will be taken away and India will get some very old Tarapur Style power plants.
