Raiways is charging extra Rs 10/- to 15/-for the reservation done at the counter which is not the originating station. In this way i am paying extra as service charge for the train which starts just 7Km away from my house. So you can estimate the profit without raising the basic charge.

NOt only that, earlier you could have broken your journey and then resume it on another day on the same ticket. Now such break journey has to be planned before purchasing the ticket and it should be mentioned in the reservation form. Otherwise the ticket will be treated as invalid for resumption of journey. Similarly, earlier you could have extended your journey in the train paying a nominal charges. NOw you have to pay actual fare for this distance.

Mr Raja,
Do u know how did this happen ?

Lallu made all the Trains Superfast and So everyone had to pay Rs 20 more which though were made superfast was not actually superfast.

So though the basic fare remains same the cost to pocket does increase.
