We are not still working on the existing projects like Non-Renewable Energy; as one of the readers wrote about the transmission losses, I appreciate for having raised this information. We do not require bulbs of existing technology with 100W/ 60W. We do not require electric heaters driven with electric power. Solar heaters would do that. The gadgets can be effectively worked out at 110V too. Why the hell we stick onto still old technology. The entire show of this deal is like pumping /injecting liters of medicine without actually looking upon the root cause of the decease.
I personally do not feel that we need to adhere all stupid clauses US puts on India. Besides this why the hell our Govt does not pressurize the Oil exporting companies about the price which we can afford for India is a big customer for them. It clearly shows that our guys just accept some frivolous price for kickbacks.

Dr Ragvendra pls do not raise passions.
Think rationally and start answering how to solve Nuclear impasse if we need Fissile Uranium as starting point.

Can you get it without clearing US imposed restrictions. Answer is BIG NO.

If you want India to go back into 1980's than it is fine, otherwise think Rationally.

Whats your point? How about me saying that India imports 55 billion dollars oil each year, primarily from Middle east. So why not we are colonies of the Mughals still? And history has it- Middle East is much crooked than US. And what does ME has, except oil? Any intellectual capital? Any signs of democracy? ANy scientific achievements in the last 100 years? Sir, pls admit that India is an energy deficient country. It has to find means to plug the gap. Nuclear energy is one options, and sure not the only option. I feel much more comfortable in being a US 'colony' than an Iran or Saudi 'colony'. One comment from US lawmakers, and you ppl start shouting as if the world has stopped. US is a democracy, and like there Senate talks/discusses the bills. What's wrong in that? Thankfully many countries in the world dont go by what their 'Supreme' leader says.. or do you want a world full of SUPREME leaders?

well said! Additionally, please read an article in The Hindu today by M R Srinivasan (former AEC Chairman). France, apparently generates 80 % of its energy through nuclear means. And the price of nuclear power is not all that high as is the prevailing notion. Moreover, with our economic growth and the role that we need to play in international affairs in future, we need military might. This deal will free up our existing fuel reserves to make weapons, which although are not the right means, nevertheless are important tools in an imperfect world

I have also read the HINDU article by M R Srinivasan.Though he mention about lowest energy cost in Fracnce he doesn't give the actual value of energy in cost per unit. He only mention the cost per unit energy from various atomic plants and never compares it with any other source or the prevailing energy cost in market. One should also understand that pricing of energy sources like electricity and fuel is run by govt. policies than market. Thats why we have subsuidieced gas connection and different electricity charges with different slab and for commercial establishment. It is a well know fact that Hydroelectric power is the cheapest and Srinivasan is trying to prove Nuclear is cheaper since it is cheaper in france..! funny!

thats a fantastic reply... i feel like adding the point that we are going to run out of coal soon notwithstanding the fact that coal pollutes. global warming and changing weather patterns stare us in the face and nuclear energy is deinately one of the better options available. and what is the fun in reinventing the wheel more so when our own nuclear programme is way off the mark..it is a pity that the way to progress has been held hostage by china's chumchas... (they seem to turn a blind eye to the fact that even china owes its progress to the US. what dissapoints me more is the fact that even the BJP which intitiated this dialogue is being blinded by short goals at the expense of the well-being of the country. dont quite understand why some idiots cant accept ground realities and continue to live in a fools paradise..

Dear Analysis,
But the Mughals don't ask for any agreement that bind us for the rest of our life to fight on behalf of them for the so called democracy, invented, propagated and implemented by US marines, in return of their oil. Energy deficiency..... please under stand that the transmission losses amounts to 20-30% of the power produced in India while it is a fraction of that in other countries. Why can't we invest in technology to reduce that which itself will make us self sufficient. Another thing is incandicent bulbs if we replace all the incandicent bulbs in over villages with CFLs that itself reduce the consumption for lighting by 50-60%. A fraction of the cost of reactors will be sufficient for providing CFLs free of cost to all our poor rural folk. No body is intereseted in this because the deal involves crores worth purchase of reactors and components. And the US is ready to give Nuclear technology to INDIA at the same time is threatening Iran about bombing its civilian nuclear facilities...!. Why? Because the 123 deal will ensure that all the embargo on transfer of military technology to India will be lifted. So that the US companies can bid for the 18000 crore global tender for fighter planes and its technology. Got any idea that why the US as well as corupt Indian politicians are so much interested in the deal..!!

dileep anardanan ,Iran got waned cuz of it's leaders stupid mouth. He wanted to wipe Isreal off the map. Above all he said holocaust is a myth. US alone in this now France came out strongly. There is a huge difference between Iraninan leadership and Indian. They are historically problamatic nation. US dont need to worry about bombing ,Isreal will take care of it just like they did in 1981 over in Iraq. They have the guts and the brain.
