No Roll? Absurd
by Lalatendu Deo on Oct 03, 2007 09:17 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Congress has no role to play, publicly. Yes. It will not. But it has a lot to play until an election is announced.

Firstly, it will make sure that the skirmish between two warring Parties in the Power Struggle continue for a little bit while more. That will result in development of bitterness for each of them in the mind of voters, which in turn will get diverted towards Congress. After all it was a victim of JD(S) episode some 20 months back, which is vividly there in public mind.

Secondly, once the ill feeling develops to a p[osition of advantage for the Congress, it has to decide as to when to conduct the all important election. Whether it would be advantageous to go for a simultaneous election, is a question that would need an answer. And the Question here is as to how the whole thing is to be steered.

And the most important is as to with whom to align. Though it is an internal matter, this is the biggest matter in the mind. And once that is clear, things will put in place as it will be required.

There is a lot in Karnataka Politics. And Congress has the biggest Role in it.

Deve Gauda also don't want election and he knows that the results won't be in his favour. He wants negotiation in power transfer. It's just like drama which he played 20 months back with congress.

Yes, you may be right. Kumaraswamy may continue as BJP will be interested, more than any one else, not to have election. And this may make them to continue support for Kumaraswamy.
