this is 2 nd bad experience for BJP one in UP with mayavathi and afterwards BJPs base started eroded in uttar Pradesh and now in Karnataka. hence forth they should be careful with their allies. if JD-s and cong form govt BJP should work as effective opposition and expose their failure then only they can come back in next karnatake election

There are 2 reason for a disastrous move of BJP to ally with disrespectable politicians like Mayawati and Dave Gaowda who have backstabbed all their partners, and even mentor in case of Mayawati.
1. BJP, despite having good leaders could not increase its vote share in Karnataka significantly. This is due to infighting as well as due to caste-based voting.
2. The spectre created by sickulars who equate BJP in power with a devil. The machinations of sickulars, their disrespect towards law of land (Kerala/Punjab/Karnataka/now TN) are more than a match for BJP which has been forced into desperation in search for allies.
The cold truth, there is no escape for BJP. It cannot forever rely on allies. It has to do the political work itself, grow its own support base, and not take its voters for granted. BJPm however is in no mood to learn. So it will continue to lurch from Mayawati to Dave Gowda.
