The "Pushpak" was not made by Ravana (if the scriptures are to be believed). It was engineered by Vishwakarma at the behest of Kuber, who also owned the island of Lanka. Ravana, who was his step-brother, drove him off the land and also snatched his flying-machine. That is why, the Lord Rama sent back the machine to its rightful owner after he reached Ayodhya with Sita after the war of Lanka. But I am just repeating what is there in the scriptures. The Wright brothers might also be relegated to myths after another five thousand years. After all, who has seen tomorrow !!!
