Taslima Nasreen is a third rated writer and all her writings were aimed at gaining cheap popularity. She has now withdrawing the sensitive lines from her memoir. It shows that these type of writers will wake up only when there were protest on their writings. Freedom of expression does not mean they are free to hurt others feelings. If M.F. Hussein has done something wrong or hurt the sentiments of Hindus, it should be condemned in the same vein as we have been condemning the likes of Nasreen and Rushdie. But then there is always a decent way of expressing anger and not the holiganism practised by Bal Thackery and his party Shive Sena in burning out the milestone paintings of the world famour painer MF Hussain. There was not decency shown by BJP and Hindutva protagonists. See the Muslim reaction. It will be fatwa or protest in the public. The attack on Tasleema by some at Hydrabad recently was condemned and the muslims were first to condem such attacks. If Taslima is a literary genius, she can do a literature good by writing some sensible matter of larger interest instead of whipping up passions on public or religious sensisve matters. There are more than 1000 ways of expressing anguish at the system without hurting the sentiments of the sensitive communities inthe world. The literature and its contribution is welcomed, and it is duly rewarded by the world. No saner person will ever accept the way Taslima was behaved and wrote about Islam. Its double whether she is muslim.

Good post Jamshed...you have actually saved a very lame Islam from Taslima...wonder how long your type can threaten and gag people and continue to Save Islam...Islam it seems is always "khatre mein hai'..from Jews, Christians, Bush, Carter, Hindus, Taslima, Rushdie..if not for those brave jihadies who behead people Islam would be so much more in danger..God sure wrote a very insecure 'Book'.

Look whos is talking.. So attach on Taslima was a one off case... And attack on MFH by Hindus is Hindu barbarism... Remove your coloured glass and look at the world uniformly dude...
The whole media and majority Hindus condemned the attack on MFH. How many Muslims condemned the attack on Tasleema in Hyderabad? No one and even the media and govt played along with the barbarians...
Cool Jamsheed... Always keep looking at only one side of the coin...

It is an internationally known fact that Muslim and Violence are synonimous for the past 10 Centuries of Islam's existence. Violence in the world will reduce by 95% the day Islam ceases to exist. But you cann't blame the Muslims for it.It is embedded in their basic Nature thro' Violent teachings.

First of all I dont understand y these hindus are making such a hue & cry about these paintings. Instead y dont they go and see the temples of khajuraho. One will be ashamed if he's gone with family over there, not only humans they are not leaving cows as well.
They themselves are depicting their gods in such a manner and try to portray themselves as good. These statues only signify that demonisn is a part of hinduism. Grow up gusy, this is not the time to still keep on fighting ourselves. Let us be one and make india more strong.

Smiling Assassin, you are perfectly right.Jamsheed Basha is hypocrite.I ask him one question. What would he have done if that stupid M.F. Hussain would have painted naked picture of the wife of Mohammad Paigambar, instesd of Goddess Ma Saraswati?Further I may suggest him that if he is so tolerant,he may ask that 'Badmash'painter to draw naked pictures of his women family members and put tham for exhibition.

Jamsheed Basha, Fanaticism in Hindutva group is nothing but a reaction to Islamic fanaticism. Hinduism is keeping this country free of troubles and do not try to discredit Hinduism by writing this nonsense.

Jamsheed,
Have you read Taslima's book? I guess not. You are one of those fundamentalist who just thinks that anybody questioning Koran or heavily male oriented Sharia Laws is an infidel and needs to be kicked out of the country. What Hussein did and what Talsima did has no similarities. Hussain went and painted Hindu Goddesses naked and displayed them in a lustful manner. That offended a section of Hindus. Whereas Taslima is questioning woman's right in context of Islam. So, where is the similarity. The problem is Islamic society is still lodged in primitive generation. You guys cannot take it that anybody would come out in protest of the ill practices in your society (part of your religion) and that too by a woman.
