Time was there when Writers like Shakespear, Rabindranath Tagore used their brain and intellect to give out books which were read and applauded by whole humanity. They were people of brains and as such they didnt use to mock at someone to become famous.
Still there are some genuine writers who put their words to papers which appeals to people of all language and religion.
But there are few who dont have brains to create some wrtiting which can bring peace or mend relations. Such are the people like Salman Rusdie, Taslima Nasreen, Bal Thakeray, MF Hussain. These are useless people to our society. They cant be famous with their good so try to be famous with their bad. People never bow to false if they are strong. Tasleema nasrin is running from places as Salman rusdie and MF Hussain. They dont have guts in their hearts to stand for the truth. Their words are a lies to gain name and fame.
There are so many issues in the society, why they dont try to write about them??? And the greatest thing in this people are after gaining lot of money out of their writing had they ever think of spending a little portion for any social cause.Can anyone say that Rusdie or Nasreen or MF hussain donated so much money to any social organisation. Never, they just want to be famous and earn money by hurting peoples sentiments and as such they are neither bless by God nor by the people.

A society in which writers and artists are bound by rules and restrictions is a non-progressive state where people have closed minds and the minorities(like women)are second-class citizens. There is stagnation and the brightest minds have to migrate to a Western country just to breathe freely. Such a country produces no Nobel Prize winners or scientists or writers which go down in History. How many Nobel Prize winners are Saudi Arabian or North Korean or Sudanese? Writers write and if people who have no appreciation of literature or a literary degree consider a Rushdie as 'cheap' that just makes them look stupid. Artists, scientists and Thinkers have different sensibilities from most people. Thank god for that!

Arif, What is wrong to show the world the truth. Theo Van Gough did expose how the women are treated in Islamic land and he was brutally killed in broad day light by a devout Muslim who knows Koran more than you do. Please put a search for Theo Van GOugh and you will find for yourself. Because of Taslima, Rushdie, Ali Sina we are knowing the truth of Islam. Your are suggesting that they should not write like those so we people stay in dark as you are in the darkness.
