There was and is only one eternal religion and it is Hinduism. Hinduism will remain for ever because it is the way of life to live in peace. I have a theory. Way back when Swmai Vivekanand was travelling to America in a boat, all of a sudden he rose and asked the captain which is the country from which you are passing by now? He said Saudi Arabia. Further he asked Swamiji why he asked this question in the dead of night. Swamini replied that Just now in my dream a Mahakaya means very huge in stature, Rishi came and told me that this country was our abode earlier. You can go and dig the ground and you will find Shiv Ling everywhere. Second, our Hindus are fanatical and they don't allow anybody with an idea against the tenets stated in Vedas. One such Gautam Budha came and he was thrown out of the Country and it is spread over the whole world. Such a fanatical "Mohan" Rishi became wild against the society and he vowed that he will call himself as "Mohamad" and will start a religion which will practice everything against the way the Hindus follow: see they write from left to right, they pray Moon and look to west and every minute thing the Muslims observe is against the way Hindus follow. At present also you can call some persons who call themselves as Lingayat who are Hindus but they put the idol of Basavanna(The Vehicle of Shiva - bull) inside the temple and put the Shivalinga in front of it in the prayer hall.
