Will anybody survey an interesting subject ? What percentage of Muslim women are silent supporters of Taslima ? After all most of them experiance and sees cruel domination of men in that society.

You are prisoner of your own idiosyncratic imaginations !

Women in Islam are among happiest in the world. Some Western surveys have established it already !

Nobody is happy with inferior treatment.

Question is NOT why women are treated at par with men in Islam? Every Religion is against women.

BUT QUESTION IS: WHY MUSLIM SOCIETIES CONTINUE TO TREAT WOMEN AS SECOND GRADE CITIZEN?

INDIAN LAW SAYS MEN AND WOMEN HAVE EQUAL RIGHTS.

As an Indian, you have to follow it.

Its as simple as that.

Do you remeber the case UP case "" father inlaw raper his own daughter inlaw" and maulvi gave the commandment that her husband shall be away from her and her father inlaw is his husband now..
But this is wrong commandment.. according to the sharaya law her father inlaw shall be hanged..

The problem within the muslim socity is illeteracy.. If you are literate you need not to go and ask mulla and maulvi what shall i do.. you can refer to book and decide what is appropriate for us..

Saleem:
In many aspects (divorce, inheritance, right to work, handling of testimonies in cases of crimes like rape etc) Islamic laws work against women, big time. Don't you think it is time liberal Muslims start questioning these laws?

Only worthy part of statement is on 'Burka' for Muslim women in Islam.

But I know you forgot that there is Beard for men in Islam. Both Bukrka and Beard achieve same goal - they put veil on glamour/sensuality part of human personality.

One may disagree with such suggestion by Islam (I support it though), no one can argue that Islam Ttraets man and woman SAME on this principle
