Taslima on run
by jamsheed abumohammed on Nov 27, 2007 07:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Taslima, a persona non-grata in her own land, is virtually on run. Nobody in India would like to own her. She does not deserve any sympathy and it is in her own interest that she should return to Bangladesh and face charges, if any. She cannot spoil the atmosphere here. The West Bengal government banned her memoir, wikhandito (Split Apart) in 2003 on charges of hurting religious feelings. There is no justification for the Budha government to extend any hospitality to the infamous writer. BJP is keemn to shelter her. Let them take her in their party but Government of India should not allow her to stay and seek political asylum. Let her go to any western country where she will be welcomed by anti-Islamic regimes. India has good relationship with all the countries of the muslim world. Any precipitate action will mar such smooth relatgionship. This is the danger to give refuge to such a blashphemous writer from Bangla Desh. Fundamentalists may raise their ugly heads again and create all sorts of problems for the government as it happened in Hydrabad. The West Bengal Government is well advised to disown her in their own interest and in the larger interest of the country's foreign policy. Salman Rushdie's case is the pointer for the worst things to come. Freedom of expression does not mean hurting the sentiments of others. This may be made clear to these kind of writers by not giving any refuge to such elements in a peaceful country like India. This will clear all doubts.

Dear Jamsheed Abumohammed,
I liked your peaceful way of urguments. This is trully the civilized approach. If you think Taslima has made some mistake in her writtings, which is not true anyway, you are most welcome to protest by writting.
In this process please advice those rotten Mullahs not to provoke simple and ordinery muslims for violence. They are struugling for daily living. And do not encourage Bangladeshi extreemist to come to India for blasting bombs. All such terrorist bombs has proved to be spared fire crackers in India. Indian civilization has survived all such hurdles. Bharat is simply not a Mahan country.
And finally, because of rapid improvement of telecommunication science the world has reduced to a small village today. Any crime or injustice made in any part of this new village is open to see live for others. Any injustice to Taslima will bring shame to entire village. Interestingly, Taslima's case is not an isolated case. Each and every muslim women is no less than Taslima if you give them freedom of expression. And for that matter Hindu Christian and women from any other religions are silent supporters of Taslima. Because no women like man's brutal domination.
