Not because he is great but becuase he knows how to play with the Gujju sentiments. There are four characteristics of Gujarati people(Saru = Good, Sastu = Cheap,Namtu= Durable,Vadharu=Ample). For these 4 things the comon gujju will even sell his Mother,wife,Sister and daughter. Modi understands this Gujju mentality very well. Thats why he is suceesful in illusionising the Gujjus by creating a rosy picture in front of them in the name of so called progress/development and security. Finally the gujjus will realise their mistake but it would be too late for them
