I want to make it clear that Farooq Abdullah had no hand in the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from their ancestral land.Hindus were very much in the valley during Farooq Abdullah's period of government. Farooq Abdullah resigned in protest, in fact against the attitude of the then Government of India towards handling of militancy in Kashmir much before the exodus of hindus. The game played by the then Home Minister of India, Mufti Mohamad Syed, who actually used abduction of his daughter to get free 5 terrorists(arrested by Farooq's government).Government of India took decisions favouring militants, thus giving FULL impetus to the militancy, all against the stand taken by Farooq. His opinion was not heeded by Central Government headed by VP Singh in which the architect of militancy in Kashmir and a staunch supporter of militants held Home Portfolio. Blaming Farooq Abdullah for the exodus of Hindus is not correct. The truth is that Farooq's Party was the worst hit by militancy, highest number of leaders and political workers killed are from his Party. The present government in Jammu & Kashmir is run by Congress in collation with the same Mufti Syed. Mufti Syed's stand since the start of militancy has been to change stance and parties but ensure his help to militants. He was actively helped by militants in the last elections in the state Forooq Abdullah was the only Muslim who spoke against those fools who questioned existence of Lord Rama. His statement was on rediff as well.
