Mothers don%u2019t have Voting power and daughters can not get driving license, don%u2019t have access to higher (co)education and can not go alone out of home. Even after a century nothing can be done to improve these Women status like Talisma..

Talking about it - this is happening in a country which has a "secular" woman President and a "secular" woman super prime minister. At the end it took a woman chief minister from the communal party BJP to save a Muslim woman from across the border. To pay lip service to secularism is one thing and to actually stand up and do something when the time comes is absolutely different.

I agree with you. Rajasthan govt. should have given the protection but I don%u2019t know the reason for not helping her.May be for security reasons or political reasons. We as such a big Democratic country we can not go out of principles. Either a Rajasthan CM or Indian PM obliged to protect Bangladesh ,If not then why you leave Tasleem Nasreen alone? When you can not help a single Bangladesh women writer why did you parted bangladesh from Pakisthan?

How would you like to explain the concept of mothers through the mad chase that is on after Taslima? She has a point of view which she expresses. If the mullah does not agree with it, they can debate (assuming they are intellectually capable of anything except rabble rousing)! Why do these safekeepers of religion across two nations have to chase one woman. As if killing her or making her run from one place to the other will clean their religion of all problems?
