from Sylhet, Bangladesh ---------------- I am from Bangladesh. I am not a Muslim. I am not a supporter of extremism. I also do not support the role of Muslim organisations in Calcutta. But it is also important that we do not support Taslima Nasreen. She has projected herself as a secular campaigner. Some personalities, organisations and even the Central Government of India and in some cases the State Government of West Bengal supported her, patronised her and let her go beyond a certain limit. The progresive literary personalities supported and patronised her as a means to counter reactionary and communal writings and writers. The Central Government of India patronised her as a means to create pressure on Bangladesh on the issue of the rise of extremism in the country. The State Government of West Bengal also endorsed the concept probably. But all should know that Mrs. Nasreen is neither secular nor communal. She is an individualist. She likes to bee focused and some persons are using heer for their getting focused. She (Taslima Nasreen)cries much for the Hindus of bangladesh. But all she writes is not informative. She prefers to exaggerate situations. In her novel, 'Lojja', she shows how the Hindus have been compelled to embrace the culture of eating beef at family level. This is out and out a farcical statement and information. May be, there are many people who eat beef but this is done in their personal capacities outside the range of the family platform. This also happen

from Sylhet, Bangladesh ---------------- continuation of the above message ---------
This also happens in India and in Kolkata. She mixes with many persons both from literary sector and media sector and familiares with them. After a period, she uses the intimacy she had with them. she writes in black and white what was done by whom. This is unethical. People and the governments of India and West Bengal gave her protection and shelter but they failed to protect the Nobel medal and fifty other valuable resources from Santiniketan.

Hi, Come on! She is a novelist, a writer of fiction! Fiction is not truth. So, why should anybody be so sensitive about fiction?
If you do not want to read, simply ignore her! But who gives the right to anyone to issue fatwa, order eviction, or order killing!
This is the reason for Salman Rushdie to becoming more famous! The public and the media attach too much importance to literary work. Ignore if you dont like something, but you cannot violence against anyone...
