Who the hell can call it a publicity stunt, people hhave short memories, remember what all Rajiv, Indira have done for India and have lost their life. Rahul is young, educated and an affluent leader and India need him to continue.

You are right Dhiren ..one groomed Bhindren wala for her own selfish motives and lost her life ..the other meddled with LTTE and got blasted. And after few years of drama his widow sided with the know LTTE supporters just for power .. I dont think we have any good upcoming leaders now ..its all family business .. to loot they forget their political divisions ..all are one :-)

hindublogger,...all I wanted to say was.. whether their decisions were right or wrong... they took the responsibility to lead. How many Congressmen...(or read Indians, I am talking about Nationalist Indians)...were willing to lead.. when Rajiv died????...
I once again reiterate...we as comman Indian Citizens are excellent critics....but bad at taking responsibility..thats why from Nehru family to Sachin Tendulkar...we Criticize..but dont recognize..it is a BANE FOR THE COUNTRY!

Paddy .. its a known fact that the able leaders were always sidelined in the Congress just to extend the dynasty rule or cover up their misdeeds.Recent examples being the sidelining of Mani Shankar Aiyer, who refused to set up refinery in Amethi and Natwar Singh who was crucified for the Gandhi family's sake. It's all business buddy. We public are fools

ndira Gandhi paid the price of her own deeds - grooming Bhindran wala to promote her self interests. Ditto Rajiv Gandhi - meddled unecessarily with LTTE and paid the price. Now you have his widow as the powercentre - without any shame in aligning with the LTTE supporters.Well regarding Nehru - We are paying dearly for the lack of his vision. We spent gigantic amount of funds on our army ; thanks to his flawed Kashmir and Chinese policy.Just think about what we lost in Kashmir ..? Given the proximity to the ex Soviet states ..India wud have been the transit point for the central asian Oil/Gas given that only a narrow stretch of eastern Afghan separates India and Uzbek.Who knowz Indian wud have been connected to Europe via ex Soviet states to Europe by road/rail.Yes Rajeev did promote IT and Communications ..but on the other side he threw open the Ramjanmabhoomi gates and which resulted in the communal chaos.Nehru did get some infrastructure ready ..but did more harm too.A common civil code, a framework for corruption free system .. mandatory education ..there are so many things he cud have laid the foundation for ..rather than spedning his time on 'friendship' with Lady Mountbatten and others
