Well thats democracy. For e.g. Rajiv Gandhi was elected with a thumping majority after killing innocents sikhs. Modi came to power after killing innocent muslims. It is the mindset that has to be defeated. Not the system. Democracy is a valuable system which should be given strength thru integration and dialogs.

Iraq is a secular country. I think Indonesia and Malaysia are also very secular. How about Turkey? they are also secular

Rajiv Gandhi won the sympathy vote ... he did not order any killing of sikhs ... in fact, he acted fast by removing Delhi's LG and bringing milatary into action. That action was missing in Gujarat.
Riots or not, Rajiv would have won. Of course Modi did get help from riots. However, if Modi wins this time, his opponents such as myself will have to concede that he is an able administrator.
