Hindu-Muslim unity?
by Natesh on Nov 06, 2007 02:47 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I dont understand the motive behind this article. Rediff wants more people to spread hatred through this article and hence published on its portal. I see lot of hate messages between readers on the forum. Most of us in India believe all Pakisthanis hate India. I was surprised myself when i stayed in UK for a few years. I met some ex-army men of Pakisthan who earlier swore by Jinnah but now have a change of heart. They feel Jinnah seperated Pakisthan just to become a Prime minister and wield power. The creation of Pakisthan was beacuse of the rivalry between Nehru and Jinnah to become a leader. One country is now totally bleeding and the other country slowly growing. It is because of religion controlling politics in 1 country. India has always been secular with minorities having more rights and previledges than the majorities. Some of my muslim friends argue Islam is the fastest growing religion and hence the greatest. I beg to differ with this theory. An avg muslim has a min of 4 or 5 children all over the world. Islam is spreading because of its uncontrollable population and not by others converting to Islam. What muslims can do is educate their brethern on technology, commerce and train them. Illiterate muslims are more vulnerable to mullahs who preach hatred and be recruited by terrorist outfits. Mohammed cannot be against family planning because there was no such thing in 6th century. Hence please dont populate our planet and strip it of natural resources.

You are saying something veru 'High', which has been going overhead, but one thing I can tell you about Hindu-Muslim Unity is; that Hindu-Muslim Unity is a mirage you may go on chasing, but will never be able to get it. Hindus and Muslims were never united, and they can never be united. Anyone who talks about Hindu-Muslim Unity is a politician, and is trying to get votes of both.
A politician of the stature of Gandhi throughout his life kept trying to influence Muslims into accepting his leadership, but he failed, and miserably too.
Can we expect any of today's leaders to succed where Gandhi failed?
Let us accept this fact, that Hindu-Muslim Unity is unachievable. It is like unity between a tiger and a lamb.

What bullshit..Did anyone know the Hindu signified the people living in the hindu-kush and was the same for all religions.Just 250 years back when the british first came to India they never saw a single issue about people living in these regions in the name on religion. All they were awed about was the people with so many different cultures and religion living in peace and harmony with each other.
But like the tacticians that they were, they knew that the only way to rule a cash rich region like India would be to divide the general populace and thats where they targetted the two main religious groups. Gandhi,Nehru and even Jinnah knew this and thats the reason why till date in our history books they have spoken about how 'The british divided and ruled'.
So what a load of bullshit this religion based partition. It was only a political move.Learn from the history my friends, theres no Hindu, theres no Muslim, theres only people living in region who look for everlasting peace...

With due respects I disagree with you A K Singh. There has been some muslim rulers in India who have been very tolerant to Hindus and other religions. Golconda rulers in Hyd had hindu ministers and there is hindu temple inside the fort. Akbar was very tolerant during his tenure too but i agree majority of the muslim invaders murdered many hindus and buddhists. Many hindu & Buddhist temples were either destroyed or burnt. There is credible evidence to support the claim. But can we re-write history by preaching hatred towards muslims now? can we destroy mosques and create communal riots in the name of religion? can we throw 12% of India's population into the ocean or deport them. What is required is to educate and help them raise the economic ladder. They should move towards moderate and liberal islam practised in Malaysia, Kuwait and Turkey. I totally disagree this idea of Hindus and Muslims should always hate and kill each other. Our religion Hinduism has been extremely tolerant and respectful to other faiths. Hinduism also respects atheism as part of belief. No other religion is as flexible and tolerant. Hinduism questions blind faith and encourages people to ask questions and seek clarifications. We shouldnt confuse hindu mythology with Hinduism and its teachings. We also have some misgivings in the religion or culture like sati, casteism etc.. (mind you other religions have castes and untouchability too) For India's prespective we should convince them on family planning

Thanks for showing the respect.
I never said 12% or 17% should be dumped. Despite lack of unity, Hindus and Muslims can co-exist. Afterall men and snakes are co-existing on the same earth.
Let us agree to differ. Let us be suspicious of each other. Let us be battle alert all the time. Only then we can co-exist.
