Criminal becomes minister
by Sudhakar Shanbhag on May 23, 2007 10:10 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Who is going to uphold the law of the land? Criminal minister? The people who voted Mayavati, must be repenting.
This is the reason states like UP, Bihar do not prosper. Only ministers prosper.

very well said Ravi, problem of UP is not of UP alone, it encompasses the whole India, if UP lags India wont be running either also every state has its part to play, UP played its part to win the independence for India, now its the turn of other states to help UP come out of this abyss.

these problems are more serious in nature in UP because the type of people that reside there and the mindset they hav. UPites are change resisting, dogmatic, lazy people lacking any cultural character in them selves. Same people go on to become their politicians, fill the beauracracya and the administration. So do no expect UP to ever improve

Agreed that Karnataka isn't California, but it is still better off than other states. No instances of former chief ministers being picked up from their residence in the middle of the night by vindictive incumbent governments nor any case of newspaper offices being vandalised because of some trivial opinion polls......Got my point, Mr. Ravi Iyer ?????

Karnataka MLAs busy kissing and not murdering and people are aghast just by the sleaze!! Dur Pok log. They can't do more!! They can't compete with UP/Bihar.
Seriously, I agree with you that we should not go regional on these. But then how are some of the states going to improve? Recognition of states as "BIMARU" was mine or your creation. It was not done with intention of putting down those states - But to make them realize where they are. Bihar is already on the path of recovery, thanks to Nitish. I hope his efforts sustain. If UP, the largest state in India improves, it would have lot of weightage in improving national Indices.
