What the hell are you talking about nut.Iam a Christian in Australia and am As proud of Diwali as Iam of Christmas , and I have conducted more diwali festivals than any body else and all proceeds going to the poor of India and the proceeds dont discriminate between Hindu Muslim ,Sikh or Christian. and as christian from India Iam as proud of our duiverse culture than any other thing in our lifes , I have many hindu friends coming to our church as well most christians will go to Hindu temples & Gurduwaras as regularly , the indian Churches are Indian First than anything else.We are the great country , not because hinduisam is better or christianity is better because we live in a country with second largest muslim population, a huge christian population , smart & tolerant hindus , courageous sikhs , the smart marwaris and million diffrent qualities which can just be felt as a feeling ,if you can get this into your rat brain you will understand that my brothers wife is hindu and my sister is married to a hindu , and as per indian custom they follow their husbands religion as well as not losing their religion they were brought up in.any way my father or uncle both Christians can recite bhagwat geeta or most religius texts as good as the best learned pundits. I will seriosly advise you to get out of your nutshell travel india a bit and see what our country is about and where we sould place our country in the scheme of the world . AJAY

You will not save Hinduism by cutting Xians. You will save Hinduism by addressing the wrongs in it. How about the caste system. Change the scourge of caste and you will take away the biggest single reason why Hindus convert. First solve problems in your own backyard before looking at neighbours'. Otherwise people will keep calling you a "nut" and you will keep responding to them like only a "nut" can.

Mr. Archace,
you talk about this, but have you ever understand the logic behind the cruel killing of the Australian missionery MR. Grham Stein in Orissa few years ago!!!
Though I don't support and strongly condemn such killing, particularly two of the innocent lifes of the two kids who were yet to see the world, but the incidence took place having a root to converting people to christianity (this is the common anger that still exists within the native of Anandapur)!!!!See, problem is everywhere, but you cannot exploit them and preach people to go for religion conversion..

What about christian conversions in societies not having caste system. Is christian society devoid of exploitation? Whatever you say hindu social system is still strong and the longest. It can come out with solutions to conversion problems. Conversions and caste differences are a temporary problems that Hindus will overcome.

Mr. Raman Kutty, what the bloody hell you think of yourself? Do you think you are the only wise person and all others are foolish? It is high that you stopped posting utter nonsense on the message boards and start behaving yourself. As a converted christian, if you are getting any favours from the church, lick it, but do not ridicule others.

You seems to have keyhole view to the world. There are rich and poor, high class and oppressed everywhere in this world. Do you think it is possible to convert people in countries like Pakistan or Saudi? Dont you think there are poor and oppressed people there? It only because of the fact that the Hindus and the Hindu rulers in the past were lenient and tolerant to other people and religions lead to all these miseries in the past. Today's Hindus are more aware and is less tolerant because of obvious reasons. There is no question of cleaning up anywhere. There might be wrong doings in Hindu society like any other religion including Xians. But that cant be considered as a soft target for conversions. If the Xians are doing it for the love, them provide all the food and clothings without conversions. Xians are also doing wrong by giving materialistic benefits for conversion. Who'll clean that up? Yes, people were considering the Hindus as "nut" for their remarkable tolerance. You wont see that lasting for long.

Mr. ARchace,

Is that caste discrimination exists in christianity as well? Any SC/ST converted into christianity is not treated at par with Roman Catholics and Syrin Catholics. You change their name to Antony or Jocob, but will call him like Pulayan Jacob or Pulayan Antony!! So much so thbe euqality in christianity.

Commenting on Ajay's letter from Australia, I would like to say that if he is an Indian Christian, he should realise the fact that once upon a time his forefathers were Hindus. He may have grown up in such atmosphere that he learned tolerance. But the case of majority of christians is not like that. They are systematically trying to wipe out Hindus from India by coverting maximum number of people into christianity. We all know that they have full support of the west by all means, financially and otherwise. One of the US main agenda is to evangilise India in this century. They are pumping the required amount for this purpose.

The converted Dalit Christians have not seen the "light" except for the small amount received while converting. Read the deatails:

EPW carries an interesting article-cum-report on the plight of Dalit Christians. It appears to be well-researched and replete with historical, contemporary, and statistical data. Prakash Louis, the author, argues that Dalit Christians have been betrayed on all counts and from everybody including the Church.

I argue that his premise is flawed for a most fundamental reason: you cannot be a Dalit and a Christian at the same time. In the larger scheme of things, I also argue how this phenomenon threatens the India of a unified India. The term Dalit--Harijan if you will--is exclusively Hindu. If you call yourself a Dalit, you are Hindu. One rallying point of Evangelists against Hinduism in their conversion melas is the promise of equal social treatment. But as this report proves, the promise is never honoured.

Many studies have revealed that conversion to Christianity does not change the social condition of the dalits.
Caste discrimination within the Indian Christian community is more than 100 years old according to this report, and persists.

Historical data abound with caste segregation and discrimination within the church right from its inception. The cathedral at Tiruchirappalli, built between 1839 and 1841 was provided with the customary caste bar. In some places, the dalits had their own churches, in other places they attended the se
