This is a liquid fuelled missile which will take hours to load by then the war will be lost.Pakistan's Chinese M9 and M11 missiles( call it by which ever Islamic name you want) are solid fueled and can be launched at will .No other country uses liquid fueled missiles in war . Only satelite launch vehicles do so that too in the first stage only due to high specific thrust . The DRDO should stick to making coffee percolators and idli cookers( as envisaged by Krishna Menon )and get them blessed by some temple or the other in South India.Eat bondas and be happy but don't try to fool the Indian people .After 10 years Pritvi is still in the trail phase . Shivakasi could do better .

Indian Missile technology is indeginious, while pakistan as everybody knows has stolen the technology and these are nothing but chinese missiles (remember Hawk Missiles, they even stole debris from Hawk Missile)at least we have developed our own technology (still I agree with your point that we ned better detterents)

you have a point. But you as well as I are also responsible for it. If you get an offer from DRDO and a private software company, you will patriotically choose the exciting job of errr...banking/networking/soap-making software, right? Well,I would...I did.

As a person associated with Indian defense system, i know most of these are duds. Even the army now wants to abandon these and go for Brahmos army version. Most of DRDO projects are years behind schedule and pl. dont praise the scientists too much as most of them are mediocre and the office type who are worse than Bengal clerks.

Hi Srini, I have already replied u in another post at the difference between Brahmos and Prithvi
Please be clear of what the configurations and the intended purposes of these misiles,
I am not saying that we have state of the are missiles.
In a war situation its the strategy that wins wars along with the right mix of weapon systems.
I part of the Integrated Defence staff and we are finalising on the doctrine where combined defence strategies are evolved with all the forces work together and not workr like the one in Kargil times.
Obviously this needs to be tested and to test god fobid we have to go inot another war. Hope we dont need to test the doctrine in real conditions,

Can u check the Agni Misile system, particularly the third version which is a ICBM
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Agni.html
Each weapon system has its own utilisation and please do not mess up with just what u read hear and there on the Internet. If you are a Defence Analyst then u may understand the significance. There is a specific Degree program where you can understand these things...! Its a good career oppurtunity as well.
