That's why Modi didn;t include Buddhism when he brought new law for religious freedom recently!

Udit Raj should have been happy, as it would have enabled "dalits" to convert without any Govt interference.

But as Udit Raj is funded by Missionaries, he opposed that:)-

It was Sister Nivedita who sent painters like Abanindranath to under take visit Ajanta/Ellora and include those in Hindu pantheon:)- when Indian nationalism was undergoing huge change due to partition of bengal!

After all, they were created during Gupta period, supposed Hindu Golden period when the Upanishads, The Mahabharat etc were written down.
