History is History
by Natesh on May 08, 2007 10:41 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Why is everyone so keen on history? and are we learning any lessons from it? I am a born Hindu and tolerance was taught to me from early days. By talking abt cruel conversions from afghan, portugese or brit rulers will not change history. Hindus n their temples have been vandalized several times in history but talking about that now and inciting hatred will not change anything. Even hinduism has had a violent part (some Buddha temples have been destroyed. Kedarnath n Badrinath have been buddhist temples before they were destroyed n hindu temples built) We should learn from history and live peacefully respecting each other's cultures. I am against religious conversions especially if poverty sticken pple are given food n money to convert. lets not use this forum to abuse any religion or faith.

I am not sure if you know the facts brother. Many buddhist temples were destroyed in the past and some of them have been by hindus. Some were destroyed by islamic invaders too. Kedarnath and Badrinath were definitely buddhist temples before. Buddhism was very prominent in India before it was completely wiped out. Buddha was against casteism in Hinduism. I am not a buddhist but want to say certain facts here. I am hindu by birth but also like teachings of other religions including hinduism. I will not say hinduism is totally pure n just for everyone just bcoz i was a born hindu

I will not take a sword or a gun to shoot people who forcefully convert or give to convert. I will enlighten pple 2 resist conversion n fight wiv judiciary n administration to stop conversion. Respect for other religions is important for me and converting anyone means disrepect to that religion which i am against. Pple can take the good things in all religions. No one can stop anyone from visiting any temple/church/mosque/ gurudwar. Only when someone is officially converting the problem arises. I am also against pple having more than 2 children whatever religion they are. Some politicians or religious leaders defend minorities rights to have more children which i condemn.

Nobody can convert anybody forcefully.
com'on guys, in india any lower class person can be converted.
if a person is not having enough money to have one time food, why the hell he should worry about religion.
if he is getting food for survival by converting , than better get converted.

there is nothing called different religion.
the only religion is survival.
